After 15 years as an associate and then partner with a mid wilshire law firm, Joe Stark started the firm of Joseph L. Stark and Associates in 1999. Mr. Stark now focuses his primary attention on litigation matters involving public entities, employment matters, and transactional work involving complex commercial and residential real estate and confidentiality, non disclosure and trade secret protection agreements. He also retains expertise in insurance coverage and appellate advocacy.

The firm, and Mr. Stark personally, serve as General Counsel to several large business enterprises in Southern California providing a range of services from employer oriented employment law consultation and advocacy to development of unique and complex contractual relationships. Mr. Stark has guest lectured before several industry groups on matters ranging from Government Tort Liability to Employment Law. He is a proud member of the Bar in California, the Federal Bar in California, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is also a member of HADA (Housing Authority Defense Counsel).

Mr. Stark has served as a court appointed arbitrator and mediator and, for many years, has served as a volunteer for the County of Los Angeles Superior Court.

Mr. Stark is a third degree black belt in traditional Tae Kwon Do and taught martial arts for over five years. He divides his time between his practice and a small ranch, boasting horses and a collection of Siberian Huskies. He has two grown children. He enjoys building and working with computers, cooking, motorcycling, tennis, piano, violin and an eclectic variety of music.
